The State Duma approved a law on deprivation of driving licenses for 1.5 years for one violation

Deputies decided to toughen the punishment for drivers for one violation.

Members of the State Duma have adopted in the third and final reading a law on the deprivation of driving licenses for up to 18 months for concealing vehicle registration plates.

Information about this is contained in the document card on the website of the system for supporting legislative activity of the lower house of parliament.

This initiative toughens the punishment for this violation. Currently, for concealing a state registration plate, a driver faces a fine of up to 5,000 rubles or deprivation of rights for a period of 1 to 3 months.

Now the maximum punishment will be deprivation of rights for one and a half years.

The bill will then be reviewed by the Federation Council. If the upper house of parliament approves this decision, it will be forwarded to the president for signature.
