The Ministry of Transport explained when it is time for Russians to switch to winter tires
The Ministry of Transport told Russians when they can change tires on their cars and prepare them for the approaching winter.
For this to happen, it is necessary for the temperature to drop below zero and for frosts to begin.
The Russian Ministry of Transport issued a warning to motorists on its Telegram channel.
As the department emphasized, the time for changing tires on cars varies depending on the region of the Russian Federation.
While in Siberia this period often begins in October, for the central part of the country the need to switch to winter tires usually arises no earlier than November.
Experts told motorists how to understand that it is time to switch to winter tires when two conditions are met:
- the air temperature is set at 5-7 degrees below zero;
- permanent frosts are established.
The Ministry of Transport reminded that even if these conditions are not met, all vehicles must be equipped with winter tires by December 1.
