The Ministry of Labor intends to reduce the list of professions prohibited for women.

The draft of the corresponding order was posted on the website of draft regulatory legal acts.

Deputy Minister of Labor Alexey Vovchenko noted that the need for revision is dictated by time.

He explained that current working conditions in some areas have become less harmful to health thanks to the introduction of technology and improved production processes.

Therefore, the time has come to reduce the list of professions in which women’s work is prohibited, the department believes.

Thus, it is proposed to remove from this list the work of operating self-propelled vehicles in open-pit mining operations.

In addition, they want to allow women to work on the surface of functioning mines, reserves, and pits under construction.

The full list of professions is at the development and approval stage.

First, there will be a public discussion. The authorities will consider the draft decree and then officially publish it if a positive decision is made.

It is noted that the project was prepared taking into account proposals received from various organizations, employees, and specialized specialists.
