The Ministry of Labor has proposed allowing women to work on the surface of mines and quarries

The Russian Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has proposed reducing the list of industries in which women are prohibited from working.

This decision is aimed at expanding employment opportunities for women in various sectors.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Labor , the following types of work may be excluded from the list of professions prohibited for women:

• control of self-propelled machines in open-pit mining, agglomeration work, enrichment work, work on the surface of operating and under-construction mines and shafts.

Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Alexey Vovchenko noted that modern production and new technologies minimize the adverse effects on a woman’s body.

This allows you to safely perform work that was previously considered harmful to women's health.
