The Ministry of Internal Affairs found out which phone numbers the scammers started using.
Recently, fraudulent transactions using phone numbers that have already fallen out of use have been increasingly recorded.
RIA Novosti journalists learned about this from Sergei Kalinin, who represents the Ministry of Internal Affairs department that combats the illegal use of technology.
At a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Kalinin said that cases are increasingly being recorded where offenders gain access to the accounts of Russian citizens on the State Services portal.
In this case, subscriber numbers are often used that are no longer valid.
According to Kalinin, the agency is currently working to establish liability for the illegal collection, storage, and use of people's personal data.
Also, at the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, changes may be made to the law on violation of privacy.
