The head of the Ministry of Health stated that Russians have shifted their sense of age

Mikhail Murashko spoke about the shift in the perception of age among Russians by about a decade.

According to the Minister of Health, Russian residents assess their age and health differently than in other periods of history.

Speaking to the press at the Healthy Society forum, Murashko cited 40-year-old Russians as an example,RIA Novosti reports. According to him, these people feel like they are 30.

Fifty-year-old Russians feel like they are only 40, an official said.

Murashko emphasized that this is the result of the normal development of healthcare and the attitude of Russians towards their health.

Meanwhile, the authorities are working on implementing a national project to increase the average life expectancy of Russians.

Vladimir Putin has ordered that the figure be increased to 78 years by 2030. In another six years, the average life expectancy of Russians should reach 81 years.

Japan leads the world rankings, with an average life expectancy of 84 years – 81 years for men and 87 for women.
