Boris Titov commented on the quality of raw materials from which wine is made in Belarus.
According to the head of the company "Abrau-Dyurso", it is nothing more than low-quality "swill".
Titov left this comment regarding the upcoming import of products from the Minsk Grape Wine Factory to Russia, reports RBC Vino .
According to the head of the wine house, such a measure is nothing more than an attempt to restore the bulk wine market in Russia. Bulk wine is wine made from imported wine material and bottled elsewhere.
At the same time, the Western wine material used in Belarus is not of particularly high quality.
That same wine material has been nicknamed “swill” in common parlance, Titov said dismissively of this product.
Unlike Russian ones, Belarusian enterprises are not subject to the duties introduced in 2023 on wines from the European Union.
Therefore, the head of Abrau-Dyurso believes that filling the market with cheap products from Belarus will not help support domestic producers.
Earlier it was reported that duties on beer imports from “unfriendly countries” to Russia could be increased.
