Deputies approved a law that clarifies the system of payment for unused time off of an employee upon dismissal.
The decision was made during the plenary session in the second and third readings on Tuesday, September 24.
The bill card is available on the website of the electronic database of the lower house of parliament.
If an employee works on a day off or a non-working holiday during the year, he is entitled to a day off. It can be added to the main vacation.
If a person resigns and has one or more unused vacation days left, he can count on additional payment.
Previously, a worker in such a situation was left without rest and without monetary compensation.
Now the employer will have to pay the difference between the payment for work on a day off (non-working holiday) and the actual payment for work on that day.
The measure was proposed by the cabinet in May 2024. It will come into force on March 1 next year.
