The head of the Omsk region announced the decision to introduce a state of emergency in the region.

Information about this appeared on the Telegram channel of Governor Vitaly Khotsenko.

On Thursday, August 29, the regional leadership decided to introduce a state of emergency due to heavy rains.

Heavy rainfall that hit the region disrupted farmers' plans.

Agricultural enterprises had to postpone harvesting activities to a later date.

The work has not stopped. Some farmers are trying to organize the harvesting campaign even in such difficult weather conditions, Khotsenko emphasized.

But the state of emergency will give the right to receive insurance payments to those whose crop areas were insured.

This summer, a state of emergency was already declared in the Omsk region. It happened in early June. Then, the cause was the flood after the Irtysh and Ishim rivers overflowed.
