State Duma deputy from the New People party Anna Skroznikova reported that she sent a proposal to the Russian Ministry of Education.
The essence of the initiative is to introduce the basics of self-defense into physical education lessons for high school girls.
Skroznikova explained that the proposal in question was formed within the framework of the New People party project, as reported by RIA Novosti .
The idea of the project is to teach women how to protect themselves in critical situations.
Commenting on the proposal to change the school curriculum, the official said: “I ask that you facilitate the implementation of self-defense measures for schoolgirls in grades 10–11.”
According to the deputy, students of “general education organizations and secondary vocational education institutions” should be taught the basics of self-defense.
Skroznikova emphasized that today violent acts against women are increasingly being recorded.
As the deputy pointed out, the most vulnerable category of citizens in this matter are minors.
