Security forces found weapons during search of home of former deputy head of Russian Defense Ministry
Russian law enforcement agencies reported that security forces conducted a search at the residence of former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov.
It is reported that during the search, law enforcement officers seized firearms.
The police explained: "The security forces also searched other persons involved in the case. Weapons were also found in their homes," as reported by TASS .
The find is currently being studied by ballistics experts.
Details of the incident
Timur Ivanov has served as Deputy Minister of Defense since May 2016.
At the end of June this year, the official was removed from his post due to bribery and charges of embezzlement.
It has been repeatedly stated that, given the nature of his crimes, Ivanov faces up to 15 years in prison.
The investigation into this case is currently ongoing.
