The government has issued an order to develop a new service.

The Cabinet of Ministers has ordered the creation of a service that will allow Russians to receive services from civil registry offices using biometric data.

They want to allow citizens to register marriages, change their last names, and establish paternity without presenting documents, TASS reports.

Several departments were immediately instructed to develop the corresponding service.

Representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development, the Federal Tax Service and the Center for Biometric Technologies will be involved in this.

At the same time, the government assured that after the creation and commissioning of this service, citizens will still be able to use the services of the Civil Registry Office using identity documents.

The Russians themselves will decide which option is more convenient for them, the Cabinet of Ministers concluded.

Earlier, the State Duma proposed introducing intermediaries in divorce proceedings.
