Russia proposes to introduce insurance liability for citizens for their health
The deputy chairman of the chamber's demographic committee made an unusual proposal.
The official believes that responsibility for the health of citizens should be primarily in the interests of the Russians themselves.
Oleg Apolikhin made this statement during a round table discussion dedicated to the reproductive health of Russians, TASS reports.
As the deputy chairman of the commission emphasized, the study conducted made it possible to find out that only 36 thousand men in all of Russia suffer from infertility.
However, the number of women is significantly higher.
This problem is explained by the fact that representatives of the stronger sex are less likely to seek medical help themselves.
According to Apolikhin, this should not be the case. The official proposed introducing insurance liability for patients themselves, so that people would be primarily responsible for their own health.
The deputy chairman of the commission believes that people have no right to blame doctors if they themselves do not take care of their health and, moreover, deliberately harm it, for example, by smoking or drinking alcohol.
