Russia has risen in the ranking of the world's most powerful passports

Russia has risen several places in the ranking of the world's strongest passports.

Now the Russian passport is included in the top 50 of the index compiled by Henley&Partners.

The Russian document rose to 45th place in the updated ranking.

Previously, experts ranked it 51st, according to the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

Russia shares its new position in this rating with Turkey. Experts' research says that with a Russian passport, tourists have access to 116 countries and territories.

Citizens of the Russian Federation do not need a visa to visit these regions.

The first place was taken by the passport of Singapore. Citizens of this country can visit 195 countries and territories without a visa.

Also in the lead are documents from France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain. Travelers from these countries can visit 192 destinations without a visa.

There are also many countries in third place: Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea and Sweden. For them, a visa-free regime applies to 191 destinations.
