Russia approves new fines for pet owners

Members of the lower house of parliament approved the introduction of new fines in two readings at once.

The regulations approved by the State Duma apply to pet owners.

In the 2nd and 3rd readings, deputies approved amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO), TASS reports.

Fines are being introduced for citizens for violating requirements for keeping pets.

Thus, for individuals a fine of up to 3 thousand rubles is envisaged, for officials – up to 15 thousand rubles.

If the violation is committed by a legal entity, the fine may reach 30 thousand rubles.

It is also noted that a fine will not be imposed on the owner if the violation was committed by a person who was temporarily looking after the pet.
