Russia Allows Raising Youth Age to 60
In the future, the age limits for defining “youth” in Russia may be expanded to 60 years.
This was stated by the head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova.
She voiced her opinion based on the WHO classification, Interfax reports. According to it, people under 45 are considered young.
The FMBA director believes that in the foreseeable future this bar will be raised to 60 years, including in Russia.
Skvortsova cited the increase in average life expectancy.
But for now in Russia youth are considered to be people from fourteen to thirty-five years old.
These boundaries were established at the legislative level by Vladimir Putin in 2020.
According to the WHO classification, middle-aged people are those aged 45 to 59 years. Elderly people are those aged 60 to 74 years.
From 75 to 90 years old are representatives of old age, and longevity begins after 90 years.
