Rosstat told where migrants most often move to Russia from

Rosstat reported which country's representatives are most actively moving to the Russian Federation.

The primacy belongs to the inhabitants of the Central Asian states.

Russia remains attractive to citizens of former Soviet Union countries. This is indicated by Rosstat data, which RBC reports.

Citizens of Tajikistan are the most active in moving to the Russian Federation – 31% of the total number of those who moved to the country. In second place is Kyrgyzstan (10%).

In third place are Ukrainian, Armenian and Kazakh migrants (9% each).

The top ten also included Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, and Belarus.

The State Duma is considering a bill that would prohibit labor migrants from bringing their families with them to Russia.

This initiative may be considered during the autumn session of the lower house of parliament. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin stated that the law will most likely be approved.
