Rospotrebnadzor experts have recorded cases of West Nile fever in more than twenty regions of the Russian Federation.
The department gave an assessment of the situation with the disease.
Experts reported on Wednesday, August 28, that the incidence rate in Russia remains low, Lenta.ru reports.
The supervisory authority reports a rate of 0.08 per 100 thousand population.
The disease has been registered in 22 Russian regions. But in many regions, we are talking about isolated cases.
Rospotrebnadzor experts continue to monitor the fever situation in Russia and abroad.
The department advised Russians to use repellents while outdoors.
Experts also recommend installing mosquito nets on windows and using fumigators for preventive purposes.
West Nile fever is a common disease in African countries. For Russia, this disease is rare and usually enters the country with travelers.
But the carriers are a special type of mosquito that lives in hot regions.
