Roskachestvo will conduct an inspection of popular brands of marshmallows due to complaints of poisoning.
The organization will evaluate the quality and safety of the products.
The selection will include the most popular brands among consumers, RIA Novosti writes.
A few days earlier, several Telegram channels reported mass complaints from customers about poisoning from marshmallows from the VkusVill store.
Later, similar reports appeared about marshmallows from Pyaterochka and Perekrestok.
Although VkusVill denied these complaints, and X5 Group did not find any complaints about marshmallows in the feedback, both companies suspended sales.
It was decided to subject the marshmallow with maltitol to additional testing.
The marshmallow manufacturer also plans to file a lawsuit demanding a retraction.
Roskachestvo noted that it would conduct a study of the marshmallow. Similar studies were conducted after cases of botulism infection.
Experts will carefully examine the quality and safety of the products.
