After prison, Perm cannibal Mikhail Malyshev worked in a private animal shelter in Zakamsk.
He cleaned the enclosures, also cut meat into porridge for the animals and swept the area.
In exchange, Malysheva was fed food brought by volunteers, RIA Novosti writes.
The organization said that the man worked until June, but then left on his own.
Employees say Malyshev has served his sentence and needs to work despite his disability and problems with his legs.
In addition to the Perm cannibal, there are other people working in the organization, so he was constantly in sight.
Malyshev served 25 years in prison for two murders and eating people. He also made shashlik from the meat of street dogs.
The regional police explained that the man is currently under administrative supervision.
