Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill commented on the problem with migrants that exists in the country.
According to the representative of the Orthodox Church, the current situation in Russia is leading to the indigenous population being replaced by newcomers.
The patriarch made this statement at the plenary session of the World Russian People's Council (WRPC), RIA Novosti reports.
The disproportionate replacement of the indigenous population by migrants is a direct threat to the country, as it can lead to imbalance.
[The replacement – editor’s note] poses an undeniable threat to the Russian world, the head of the church emphasized.
This phenomenon is also dangerous because the migrant environment is attractive to those who promote the ideas of radical Islamism and terrorism to the masses.
The Church, he noted, will never oppress people on the basis of nationality. However, hushing up existing problems is also, in turn, considered a serious problem that requires a solution.
