Alexander Myasnikov has debunked a number of myths about hepatitis that many people believe.
The doctor spoke about this topic as part of the TV program “The Most Important Thing”.
On air on the Russia 1 channel, a doctor answered the question of whether it is possible to become infected with hepatitis B and C through a mosquito bite.
Myasnikov emphasized that viral hepatitis is not transmitted in this way.
But he noted that mosquitoes are carriers of other equally dangerous diseases, including fever and malaria.
Another common myth is that you can get hepatitis while swimming in a pool.
Myasnikov said that the water in swimming pools is always chlorinated, so the probability of the virus surviving in such conditions is practically zero.
Hepatitis is primarily transmitted through blood or sexual contact.
The doctor pointed out that there are quite a few risks. For example, you can get hepatitis from getting a tattoo, dental treatment, or visiting a nail salon.
