Nutrition plays a key role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

However, not all people adhere to a healthy diet, harming their body.

The norm for fat consumption is no more than 30%, but Russians consume 38-40% of fat. The details are reported by the Moscow Agency with reference to the chief freelance nutritionist of the Russian Ministry of Health, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Tutelyan.

It is noted that the specialist's research has shown that there is currently a nutrition problem.

According to the nutritionist, over 40% of people eat processed meat products every day. In addition, about 20% of children do not eat vegetables and fruits on a regular basis.

Also, the adult population eats little fruit and vegetables, potatoes and bread.

The nutritionist noted that people's diets are high in calories and contain a lot of fat.

“…All this speaks to the relevance of nutritional issues…”, the academician concluded.
