Soviet and Russian actor and film director Nikita Mikhalkov commented on the accusations brought against him regarding his involvement in the case against playwright Evgenia Berkovich*.
Today, the theatre figure is serving his sentence in a general regime penal colony.
According to the assurances of the People's Artist of the RSFSR, he has never "seen" the said defendant in the criminal case, as reported by the program " Besogon TV ".
On air, Mikhalkov emphasized: “Moreover, I have never been to a bathhouse with the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, and have never discussed such things with him.”
The actor added that he was also not familiar with the works of Berkovich*, in particular, he had not read her poetry.
Mikhalkov expressed outrage at the fact that he was credited with informing on the convicted woman.
As the People's Artist of the RSFSR pointed out, a denunciation implies a complaint about secret violations.
The activities of the defendant in the criminal case, in turn, were, according to the film director, in plain sight.
