The Russian Ministry of Labor has spoken out about the possibility of shortening the working day before the New Year holidays.

Anton Kotyakov reminded that Russians will have three more days before the New Year.

The head of the department gave this comment to the RIA Novosti agency.

As Kotyakov recalled, this year, due to government-approved postponements, Russians will have 11 days off.

December 30, 2024 became a day off due to the government moving the working day to Saturday, December 28. The day off on December 31 became possible due to the transfer from January 7, 2025.

Thanks to this decision, the New Year holidays will be uninterrupted. However, before the long weekend, Russians will have a six-day work week.

However, Kotyakov believes that there is no need to shorten the working day before the 11 days off.

“We still have to work,” the minister argued his position, reminding people about the additional three days off before leaving for the long holidays.
