In Karelia, doctors were able to perform a miracle.

Doctors managed to save the life of a boy who was hit in the head with a hook.

The Minister of Health of Karelia, Mikhail Okhlopkov, wrote about this on his page on the social network Vkontakte.

A 13-year-old boy was working out on a swimming pool machine when disaster struck. The carabiner holding the line of the lane broke and the hook smashed through the child's skull, penetrating his brain.

A neurosurgeon and an anesthesiologist traveled to the Sortavala Central Regional Hospital to perform the surgical intervention. The doctors consulted with their colleagues from St. Petersburg and performed the delicate operation.
