The CAS decision pleased the IOC representatives and prompted them to hold an additional event as part of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The Russians' appeal against the redistribution of medals in the team figure skating tournament at the 2022 Olympics was rejected, so a special awards ceremony will be held in France.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected Russia's appeal on Thursday, July 25. The IOC stressed on its social media page that the decision was made "just in time."

The organization said it would now negotiate with the United States and Japan to bring skaters to Paris and hold a special ceremony at the Parc des Champions.

Kamila Valieva's gold medal will be awarded to an athlete from the USA, and Japan will receive silver.

Russia was awarded the bronze medal after the results of the competition were revised due to Valieva's doping.

The IOC is pleased with how everything was resolved. The committee representatives are glad that the athletes and teams will receive their awards, which they had to wait “for a very long time” due to the legal proceedings.
