In Udmurtia, a woman was given a prison term for beating two-month-old twins

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Udmurt Republic reported that a woman in the region received a prison term for beating two-month-old twins.

It is emphasized that as a result of this incident, the health of children was seriously damaged.

In its official Telegram channel, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region writes: “The infants were receiving blows to the head and chest for some time.”

At present, a criminal case has been opened under paragraph “b” of Part 3 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Russia.

The article provides for criminal liability for causing serious bodily harm to helpless minors.

Details of the incident

It is known that to date the twins have been diagnosed with closed craniocerebral injuries, brain contusion, and closed chest injuries.

Among the minor victims, rib fractures were also found.

The court sentenced the twins' mother to 6 years in prison. She will be held in a general regime penal colony.
