It has become known how officials will be punished for ineffective measures to combat extremism.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed a new project that provides for fines and disqualification of officials for failure to comply with decisions of the interdepartmental commission.

Punishment is provided for representatives of executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local governments, writes Vedomosti .

The bill proposes to fine officials 30-50 thousand rubles or disqualify them from public service for a period of 1-3 years.

This measure is intended to ensure that regional authorities are held accountable for failure to implement decisions of the interdepartmental commission.
