In North Ossetia, they decided to strengthen the dam located on Lake Bekan. Details are reported by TASS with reference to the Prime Minister of the Republic Boris Dzhanayev.
It is noted that a large amount of money will be allocated for the renovation of the structure – about 65 million rubles.
According to Dzhanaev, the repair of the dam is an important and large-scale work. Such a measure will improve the safety of the citizens of the republic.
It is added that the dams may not be able to handle large amounts of water due to wear and tear and problems with regulating water levels.
Lake Bekan is a natural monument of regional significance.
