Captain of the National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin commented on the assassination attempt on the life of US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
According to Ovechkin, those responsible for the attack on Trump committed a “stupid act.”
The athlete, in particular, noted: “I don’t understand at all how you can want to kill a person, even if you have hostility towards him,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
The hockey player also expressed joy at the fact that the former head of the White House remained alive.
An attempt on Donald Trump's life occurred during his speech in Pennsylvania on July 13.
As previously noted, a shot was fired at the politician, resulting in his ear being wounded.
It was reported that the Republican presidential candidate was saved from death by an accidental turn of his head.
It was also stated that as a result of the incident, one of the spectators of the rally died, and two more people received serious injuries.
