Four cases of West Nile fever detected in Astrakhan region
New cases of West Nile fever have been recorded in Russia.

A representative of the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor reported this to RIA Novosti journalists.
As the agency representative noted, the epidemiological situation today is as follows: Four cases of West Nile fever have been recorded.
This disease is an infectious disease common in African countries, as well as America, Europe and Asia.
The sick people live in different regions of the Astrakhan region: in Astrakhan itself, as well as in the Privolzhsky and Ikryaninsky districts.
According to information from Rospotrebnadzor, the lives of those infected are not in danger.
Two people have already been discharged from the medical facility with improvement, two others are still continuing treatment.
It is noted that the previous year, cases of West Nile fever were also recorded in the region. In total, 7 people fell ill with the disease in 2023.
