It has become known about a magnetic storm that will soon hit the Earth.
The natural phenomenon will begin on Tuesday evening and last for 24 hours.
This was reported by the RIA Novosti agency, citing a statement made by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center.
According to the expert, in the next 24 hours the Earth will be subjected to two impacts from solar matter.
Both impacts of the star will most likely merge together, which will cause a long-lasting solar storm.
Leus warned that Russians could feel the first effects of the magnetic storm as early as 6 p.m. Moscow time on Tuesday, September 10.
Magnetic fluctuations will last until 12 noon on Wednesday. The magnetic storm will reach its peak activity at midnight Moscow time.
At the same time, the weather forecaster reassured: the intensity of the storms will not exceed weak, maximum average levels.
He also did not rule out that residents of the European part of the capital will be able to observe the northern lights during a magnetic storm.
