Flight attendant Ekaterina Arkhangelskaya spoke about the unobvious threat to airline passengers.
We are talking about viral diseases. At altitude, the symptoms of these diseases always worsen, RIA Novosti reports.
First of all, this concerns tourists flying from countries where outbreaks of hemorrhagic fevers are constantly recorded (yellow, Ebola, dengue, West Nile, etc.).
Those flying within Russia may encounter a rotavirus outbreak. Arkhangelskaya noted that this is especially typical for the summer period.
According to the flight attendant, the exacerbation of viral diseases in passengers is a more frequent and dangerous occurrence than an emergency landing of an airplane.
One person can infect ten, twenty or more fellow travelers. In a confined space, the virus spreads very easily and quickly.
In this case, flight attendants have a plan of action. Infected people are isolated and cared for by one of the crew members.
In addition, the arrival airport is notified. When the plane lands, doctors are already waiting for passengers. But this is in cases where a large number of infected people are recorded on board.
