At the age of 18, she went to the front, became a traffic controller and took part in major battles.
Limanskaya's photo, taken in May 1945 at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, became a global symbol of Victory. She became known as the "Brandenburg Madonna."
After the war, Limanskaya worked as a nurse and librarian in the Volgograd region. In 1994, she moved to the Saratov region, where she lived until her death.
The "Madonna of Victory" monument, dedicated to the famous traffic controller, was erected in 2020 in the city of Marx.
Busargin expressed his condolences to Limanskaya's relatives. He noted her great contribution to the history of the country.
Limanskaya and her feat will remain in history and the memory of Russians.
