Washing your car engine with the wrong detergents can cause serious problems.
Alexey Balashov, director of the Avilon Mercedes-Benz service, shared important information on how to properly wash the engine.
In a conversation with Gazeta.Ru , he told how it is absolutely forbidden to wash the engine.
The expert advises against using gels for washing dishes or glass.
They can damage plastic and rubber engine parts and leave marks that are difficult to remove.
Acid and alkaline cleaners, according to Balashov, are also not suitable.
They cause corrosion of metal parts and damage electronic components, which will lead to costly repairs.
Abrasive cleaners are also not suitable for a car. When used, they scratch the body and accelerate its wear.
The engine should be washed no more than once every 12 months. Frequent washing can increase wear.
