A doctor and TV presenter spoke about products that may contain “meat glue.”

Food industry products often contain components designed to reduce production costs. However, the question of their safety for humans remains open.

Doctor Alexander Myasnikov told NSN that the meat industry has set itself the task of making products cheaper.

Trans fats, salt, sugar and other components come to the rescue, which, in addition, make the product tastier, but not healthier.

The doctor noted that the so-called "meat glue" is most often found in sausage products. These are frankfurters, sausages, and salami.

The expert recalled that since 2015, sausage has been included in the list of carcinogens.

Myasnikov recommended giving up sausages altogether. An exception can be made on holidays. In other cases, it is better to boil a piece of meat or cook roast beef.

The doctor added that expensive sausage products may not contain "meat glue." Instead, it may be an excess of sugar and fat, as well as the use of genetically modified soy.
