Summer is the time when people go to the beach, sunbathe and enjoy the sun.
However, not everyone knows about the harm of ultraviolet radiation and its impact on human health.
Solar ultraviolet radiation can cause skin cancer. Details are reported by TASS with reference to Igor Samoylenko, an employee of the oncodermatology department of the N. N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology.
It is noted that ultraviolet radiation does not cause malignant tumors immediately. Problems can begin in 5-10 years.
According to Samoylenko, ultraviolet radiation can lead not only to cancer, but also to burns and photoaging.
He noted that hot weather can harm all people, including healthy ones. The reason for this is the high risk of overheating and sunstroke.
To prevent unpleasant situations, the doctor recommended using sunscreens with SPF, wearing special clothing, and not going outside during periods of solar activity.
