According to the expert, the most useful fruits are blue and black.
PhD Sergei Chudakov shared these observations with the RIA Novosti agency.
As the expert noted, any berries are an excellent source of vitamins. However, you also need to pay attention to their color.
Chudakov noted that dark berries, colored blue or black, bring the greatest benefit to the body.
This is easily explained: fruits such as blueberries, bilberries and black currants contain antioxidants called proanthocyanidins.
The doctor also noted the benefits of berries of other colors. For example, sea buckthorn contains vitamin E, as well as beta-carotene, and raspberries and blackberries contain salicylates.
These substances, Chudakov emphasized, help reduce the severity of cold symptoms.
In addition to berries, a well-known herb called echinacea also helps strengthen the immune system.
