A Serbian judoka was disqualified because of a religious gesture.

The sports organization commented on the situation with the athlete Nemanja Majdova. The response appeared on the federation's website .

The Serb made an Orthodox religious gesture when entering the fight, did not want to greet his opponent and, in addition, took off his uniform on the tatami.

In addition, the judoka received two warnings for violating sports discipline. These episodes took place in 2018 and 2022.
