Deputy Alexander Khinshtein spoke about disputes with his wife over the disgraced social network.

The parliamentarian noted on his Telegram channel that he has been unsuccessfully trying to convince his wife to “migrate” to the social network VKontakte.

The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications reminded that the very fact of using the social network Instagram* is not a violation of Russian law.

“Although personally I am certainly not thrilled about this,” the deputy said.

Khinshtein also denies reports that his wife Polya Polyakova is involved in selling advertising on Instagram*.

The deputy is a co-author of the law on banning advertising on this social network, which was adopted in the first reading.

Before this, information appeared in the media that Khinshtein’s wife allegedly makes money by selling advertising on Instagram*.

The deputy's wife explained that she advertised domestic brands free of charge and helped friends promote their products online.
