Convict Received 18 Years in Winter Cherry Case Asks for Release
The former head of the State Construction Supervision Authority of Kuzbass, found guilty in the case of the fire at the Winter Cherry, has filed a petition for release.
Tanzilya Komkova intends to seek the overturning of her sentence due to her illness.
The press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Novosibirsk region shared this information with subscribers on its page on the social network Vkontakte.
It is noted that the verdict against Komkova was handed down in 2021. The court found her guilty of abuse of office and accepting a bribe on an especially large scale.
For this, the former head of the State Construction Supervision Authority of Kuzbass received 18 years of imprisonment and a fine of 80 million rubles.
Komkova's defense is currently insisting on her release from punishment due to illness. The exact nature of the convict's illness is not specified.
Komkova is undergoing a medical examination; the case hearing is scheduled for December 26.
