Recently, cases of "werewolf syndrome" in infants have been discovered in Europe.

At least 11 cases presented as excess body hair growth.

The problem arose in children whose parents used anti-hair loss lotions, El Pais newspaper reports.

Baldness began to appear on average in half of men and every tenth woman after 50 years.

Lotions containing minoxidil are available in pharmacies without a prescription. However, side effects have been reported in children whose parents used these lotions.

It is reported that such children may develop hypertrichosis, a condition that causes excessive hair growth all over the body.

In infants, it can cause complications with the heart and kidneys. In one case, when the father stopped using the lotion, the child's symptoms disappeared.

Minoxidil gave babies the appearance of hypertrichosis, also known as "werewolf syndrome." The rare condition causes excessive, thick hair growth on the body, often in unusual places, and even on the face.

Parents of such children were advised that symptoms were expected to improve within a few weeks as the excess hair fell out.
