ATOR names main reasons for denial of Schengen visas to Russians
Russians are increasingly being denied Schengen visas.
The main reasons for refusal are the limitation on the number of applications from Russians and their more careful verification.
Vice President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Artur Muradyan told RIA Novosti about this.
He explained that there are several main reasons for refusing to issue Schengen visas to Russians.
Countries issuing visas to Russians are limited in their number due to severe pressure from the EU.
Secondly, frequent refusals are due to the fact that applications from Russians are more often examined “under a microscope.”
Visa centers have begun to check ticket bookings and payments in detail.
According to Muradyan, the percentage of applications being closely reviewed continues to grow.
He also said that there were apparently no signs of improvement.
