Russo to file multimillion dollar lawsuit against kidnapping suspect
Abraham Russo intends to demand monetary compensation from those responsible for his kidnapping.
The singer wants to file a lawsuit for 5 million rubles, which he is claiming as compensation for moral damages.
The celebrity's lawyer, Andrei Aleshkin, told RIA Novosti about this.
According to the human rights activist, Avraam Russo intends to obtain money through the court from one of the criminals who was involved in his kidnapping in 2004. The final amount has not yet been agreed upon with his client.
It is planned that the compensation amount will be divided into two parts:
- moral damage;
- physical losses incurred, which include lost profits from cancelled concerts, medical expenses and payment for the services of human rights defenders.
It is noted that Shestopalov, who will be the defendant in the lawsuit, was arrested in early September. Before that, he had been on the federal wanted list for six years.
He was released from custody today. Since the lawyer of the kidnapping suspect is abroad, they could not extend the arrest of the suspect in the case.
