Plushenko furious at MPs for asking to support Olympic boycott

Two-time Olympic figure skating champion Evgeni Plushenko criticized deputies for asking them to support a boycott of the Olympic Games.

According to Plushenko, officials called him with a corresponding proposal, but he “sent them into space.”

The figure skater explained: “Even if our athletes are forced to travel under a neutral flag, everyone will understand where they are from,” as reported by RIA Novosti .

Plushenko also added that it is extremely important to show the rest of the world where exactly the “best masters of sports” are trained.

The Olympic champion emphasized: “The athletes’ work is very hard, they work hard every day.”

In addition, the figure skater pointed out the need to allow Russian masters of sports to continue to compete for first place.

As Plushenko emphasized, he believes that Russia will “give in to weakness” if it refuses to participate in the Olympics.

The Olympic champion also referred to the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that attending the competition is everyone’s personal desire.
