Iosif Prigozhin criticized the proposal of deputy Alexander Khinshtein, which concerns artists who are foreign agents.

The producer spoke out against depriving such musicians of the opportunity to receive money for listening to their compositions on Russian streaming platforms.

Prigozhin shared his position on this issue in a conversation with NSN . He believes that Khinshtein's idea looks "just like a nightmare."

The producer explained that adopting this law would mean depriving artists of the right to sing songs and please their fans.

Prigozhin pointed out that there could be a situation where the performer of the song is a foreign agent, but the authors of the lyrics or music are not. But the deputy's measure would equally affect all those involved.

The music figure added that he is generally against the ban tactic.

He noted that the YouTube administration blocked Russian bloggers, and in response, the Russian Federation began to influence the work of the video hosting site.

"Some have banned this, others have banned that. We need to find solutions! Tell me, to what extent will we close everything?" the producer complained.

Earlier, Khinshtein stated that the bill on new restrictions for authors who are foreign agents could be considered in the State Duma during the autumn session.

In his opinion, this initiative has nothing to do with censorship. The deputy also believes that this measure will not affect either listeners or copyright holders.
