Katya Lel decided to sue showman Otar Kushanashvili, who is battling cancer.
The singer's lawyer Tatyana Galantseva explained the celebrity's decision.
Claims against Kushanashvili arose due to a video on his YouTube channel, NEWS.ru reports.
The showman releases videos in which he discusses stars and prefers to say directly everything he thinks about them.
The video dedicated to Lel outraged the artist herself. She considered its content offensive and defaming her honor, dignity and reputation.
The lawyer added that the scandalous videos criticizing the artist were released during the period when her famous song “Dzhaga-Dzhaga” suddenly burst into the world charts and received a new round of “unprecedented popularity.”
Lel demands that the showman delete the video and refute all the false information that was voiced.
If Kushanashvili complies with the singer's demands, the terms of the dispute settlement will be confidential.
