The foreign scientific journal Nature reported that India has become the most littered country in the world in terms of plastic pollution.
It is specified that the state has significant problems with uncollected polymer waste.
Nature , in particular, writes: “India ranks first in terms of plastic pollution. Research was conducted using artificial intelligence.”
It is emphasized that scientists from the University of Leeds, UK, took part in the data analysis.
Scientists also explained that waste treatment systems process an average of 52 million tons of plastic each year.
In India, the population throws about 9.3 million tons of the above waste into the environment every year, which is a critical figure.
Second place is shared between Nigeria and Indonesia. They are 2.7 times less littered than India.
As researchers from various fields have repeatedly emphasized, plastic causes extreme harm to both the environment and the human body.
