The agency named the reason why Telegram and WhatsApp* did not work in the Russian Federation.

Once the messengers were up and running, representatives of Roskomnadzor (RKN) made a statement about the reasons for the failure.

According to the agency, users encountered problems using services due to a DDoS attack on Russian telecom operators, RIA Novosti reports.

Experts repelled the attack. Now all services are operating normally, RKN representatives informed.

A DDoS attack is a form of influence on the operation of web systems with the aim of disabling them or making it difficult for ordinary users to access them.
